Grieving the Past

28 11 2011

A lot of times in my Growing Seasons groups children aren’t just grieving the loss of a parent or a loved one, they’re grieving the past. They think daddy will never play catch with me again, or mommy and I won’t ever bake holiday cookies again. It’s important for children to know that life goes on and they’ll still have some of the activities of the past. Just because mommy and daddy are separated, things shouldn’t change between the parent and the child.
