Precious Children

14 09 2011

Children are so precious to our Father in heaven that He has their angels in heaven constantly in God’s presence. Matt 18:10 says, “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.” It’s comforting to know that there who is constantly keeping tabs on my children.

Jesus and Children

13 09 2011

“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'” Matt19:14NKJ

With all that was on Jesus’ mind, and all His dealings with the Jewish leaders, He still found time in His busy schedule to bless the little children.

Children have problems just as we do, but the difference is they need us to help them with their problems. It sure is a good thing Jesus is constantly watching out for our little ones.

Rebekah’s Version of Lazarus Pt 2

11 09 2011

Rebekah: Anyway, last time we left off with Mary and Martha sending a message to their good friend, J-e-s-u-s, happy?

Me: Yes.

Rebekah: Good. Jesus, that His good buddy, Lazarus is sick. Well, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do about it? I’m no doctor.”

Me: Jesus didn’t say that! Jesus said that Lazarus’ illness would not end in death. Jesus said that it was for God’s glory, that God’s Son may be glorified through it.

Rebekah: Yeah, yeah, yeah, the point is, that Jesus stayed right where He was and didn’t go to see Lazarus.

You know I can’t say that I blame Him though. He probably didn’t want to catch what Lazarus had.

Me: Rebekah! That’s not true! If you’re going to tell the story, then tell it right.

Rebekah: Hey, I’m telling the story. I can tell it any way I want to. The POINT I was trying to make is that Jesus stayed where He was for two more days. Then He went to see Lasagna, I mean Lazarus. But by that time the poor guy had died. Stay tune for part 3. Duh, duh, duh, duuuuh.

Rebekah’s Version of Lazarus Pt.1

9 09 2011

Rebekah: There was a man in Bethany named Lasagna. Wait a minute! Who would name their kid Lasagna?

Me: Rebekah, his name was Lazarus, not Lasagna.

Rebekah: Oh. Wait a minute! Nobody names their kid Lazarus. Not if they don’t want their kid beat up in school.

Me: I’m sure that Lazarus was a popular name in Jesus’ time. Anyway, continue with the story.

Rebekah: Well, Lasagna–I mean Lazarus, had two sisters with normal names, Mary and Martha. Now ya see, Lazarus got sick so Mary and Martha sent a message to heyzeus, their good…

Me: Heyzeus? Who’s Heyzeus?

Rebekah: You know, He died on the cross for us, duh.

Me: Oh, Jesus

Rebekah: What does J-o-s-e spell?

Me: Hozay

Rebekah: J-e-s-u-s, Heyzeus.

Me: Trust me, His name is pronounced Jesus.

Rebekah: Stay tuned for part 2.

Working with Rebekah

30 08 2011

I have a lot of fun working with my ferret puppet Rebekah. She, unlike me, is very self-confident. She’s never afraid show her talents even if she doesn’t possess the talent, like singing. She still thinks she sings beautiful.

The children love Rebekah and everytime I show up for a puppet show, the first question I’m asked is, “Did you bring Rebekah with you?” Rebekah tells the most interesting Bible stories.

It Never Fails

Every day I ask the Lord to inspire my writing. Sometimes when I read back what my hands typed, I find impossible to believe that the words in front of me came from my mind. Surely the Lord was speaking through me.

Sometimes, when I ask for discernment, it never fails, I’ll write a page or so of my own thoughts and accidentally hit a wrong button on the keyboard and delete everything I had written.

Tales of Papa John

Countless people crowded the streets of Jerusalem. They yelled, ranted, and caused a disturbance as they lined the roads, pushing and shoving each other, seeking a better view. These every day civilized people, acted as barbarians because they all wanted the best position when the approaching demonstration passed them. This vicious exhibition began at Pilate’s Palace and was now heading their direction.

Ministering to Children

16 08 2011

Doing a puppet ministry to children is one of the things I love to do. I get to share the Gospel message to them, let them know that Jesus loves them, and do it while playing with children.

Soon I would like to share some things about Rebekah my ferret puppet
